The MyDBKL app is a super-app designed to provide citizens of Kuala Lumpur with convenient access to various government services, news, and information in a single platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in a transparent and secure manner. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect
To provide you with our services and verify your identity, we collect the following personal information when you register for an account:
- Full Name
- Phone Number
- MyKad/IC Number (Identity Card Number)
We collect this information directly from you during the account creation process. Providing this information is necessary to create an account and access the App's features.
We do not collect:
- Precise or approximate location data.
- Financial or payment information (see Section 4).
- Data from your contacts, photos, or other personal files on your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following specific purposes:
- To Create and Manage Your Account: To set up your user profile and allow you to log in to the App.
- To Verify Your Identity: To ensure you are a registered user and for security purposes before you access DBKL services.
- To Facilitate Form Submissions: To pre-fill or allow you to use your registered data for submitting forms related to DBKL services, such as tax or fine payments.
- To Contact You: To send you important notices, updates, or information related to your account or DBKL services.

- Kuala Lumpur news and event updates.
- Access to DBKL services like tax and fine payment portals.
- Travel tips and information about Kuala Lumpur.
4. Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your personal data very seriously.
- Hosting and Storage: All personal data is stored on secure, on-premise servers managed directly by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. Your data is not stored with or accessible by any third-party cloud providers.
- Security Measures: We have implemented robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include server proxies, firewalls, antivirus protection, and encryption of data stored on our servers.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur does not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third-party companies or organizations for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose. All data collected is for the exclusive use of DBKL to provide and improve our services to you.
- Payment Processing: The App provides access to services that require payment, such as tax or fine settlement. However, the MyDBKL app does not have a direct payment gateway and does not collect, process, or store any credit card, debit card, or bank account information. When you make a payment, you will be redirected to a secure, official government payment portal, which has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of the payment portal you are directed to.
- Crash Reporting and Diagnostics: We do not integrate any third-party analytics or crash reporting services like Google Analytics. The only diagnostic data we may review is the aggregated and anonymized crash reporting provided by default through the Google Play Console and Apple App Store Connect. This data does not contain any personal information and is used solely to maintain and improve app stability.
6. Your Rights and Choices (Account Deletion)
We provide you with full control over your personal data. In line with Google Play Store and Apple App Store requirements, you have the right to access, edit, and delete your account and associated data at any time.
You can manage your profile or permanently delete your account directly within the App:
- Navigate to the "Profile" or "Settings" page within the MyDBKL app.
- Select the option to "Edit Profile" to correct your information or "Delete Account" to permanently remove your account and all associated personal data from our servers.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
7. Children's Privacy
The MyDBKL app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. The primary users are adults (typically aged 20+) who are residents of Kuala Lumpur engaging in governance activities.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information from our servers as quickly as possible.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
